Hey everyone! 🌍 Let’s talk about my program, International and European Relations. I’m going to give you a sneak peek into my master’s experience.

Semester One: Cracking the Code of International Relations 🗺️

The kickoff semester was all about diving into the fascinating world of international relations – a melting pot of politics, law, economics, history. We navigated through research methods, dissected the politics and economics of international affairs, dived into theories of international relations, and explored the complexities of international and European law. Research papers were our tickets to dig deep into different topics.

Semester Two: Illuminating European Relations

Fast forward to the second semester, where the spotlight is on European relations. The excitement? A field trip to Brussels! Imagine strolling through the main European institutions, and have the chance to experience firsthand how the EU functions. We’re also gearing up to tackle International and European security, European foreign policies, and Research Design and Methods.

Semester Three: Crossroads and Choices! 🌐🌍

Come the third semester, we’re standing at a crossroads – four more courses on international diplomacy and organizations or plunging into the world of internships. Many of us are leaning towards internships, sending out applications far and wide to institutions, companies, and NGOs scattered across the globe. The freedom to choose where in the world we want to work is liberating, exploring opportunities in political consulting, NGOs, or international organizations.

Semester Four: The Grand Finale – Crafting the Masterpiece 📚

The grand finale, the fourth and final semester, is all about crafting our master thesis. While I haven’t settled on a topic yet, the blank canvas is both thrilling and daunting. Some might even choose to collaborate with institutions or companies – a potential follow-up after the internship. The future is an open book, and I’m ready to pen the next chapter!

This program is a great experience for everyone who wants to blend with people with different backgrounds. From the classrooms to Brussels and beyond, it’s a holistic approach that’s shaping us for the global stage.

So, if you’re drawn to the unknown, enticed by international relations, or just curious – perhaps our paths will cross in this program next summer! 🌟🎓

Until next time,

Janine, International and European Relations
