My favourite places in Linköping

When I visit a new place/country I want to explore every part of it and connect with the environment. For me places are not just a destination but a feeling. I always like to go out for long walks or relax at a cafe and watch the people around me. Linköping might be a small town but has so much beauty and it’s easy to find places to explore. Here I will give you some of my favourite places in which you can go with your friends or even on your own.

Trädgårdsförening

Trädgårdsförening is a beautiful park in the city centre. It’s a great place to go for a walk, especially during the Summer and the beginning of Autumn.  This park is a nice and quiet place so you can read your favourite book or spend some time with your friends. And if you visit it alone, don’t worry, you will find plenty of little furry friends, like squirrels, to keep you company. In the park you will also find a nice cafe inside a big glass pyramid and a nice shop with plants and interior decorations. Personally I usually go for walks, to clean my mind and enjoy the hidden gems of the park. If you go to explore you won’t be disappointed, you will find some interesting sights there, like sculptures of trees. Definitely worth your time.

Rydskogen

This is a forest that I really enjoy. It’s located between Ryd and Gottfridsberg, so especially for the ones who live around there is a great spot. You can follow different routes and is the nicest place for workouts and long walks. There is also an outdoor gym, so you can combine your running with some activities. For me it is the best place to meet your friends and have some quality time and enjoy nature. Near it you will also find Skåland, a large open area for BBQ and games.

Ammos creperi&drinks

Ammos is a small cozy Greek cafe/restaurant in the heart of the town. It was the first place I visited when I first came in Linköping and I’m still going there to get a homey feeling. I think when you find yourself in a new place you try to find something familiar, so this cafe was my familiar spot. It’s a great choice for every occasion, you can enjoy a variety of savoury and sweet dishes, drink a cup of coffee, tea or chocolate. If you find yourself in the city centre you should give it a try.  I, also, heard that they will have some decorations for Christmas so I can’t wait.

This was a brief introduction for some choices you have in Linköping. There are a lot more choices that you can explore. Personally I’m still discovering new places everyday, so stay tuned and enjoy your time here!
