Partying in Linköping
Hi everyone! Since we are all students, a party once every while is really nice and it’s a great way to forget about deadlines and exams for a while. But what are the best places to party in Linköping and how do you get tickets? I will try to explain all of it in this blog, so if you’re interested in partying read a bit further!
Since Linköping is really focused on students and student life, parties are usually sold out quite fast. Therefore it’s important to keep up with parties and to try to get tickets early. You can find posters of various events & parties all over campus in every building, for example in C-huset behind the big lecture halls there’s a big board with posters for every event. On the poster you can find the date of the event and the ticket sale date, which is called “biljettsläpp” in Swedish. Another good thing to have is the “Orbiapp”, you can download this app and it will show some of the parties happening in Linköping. In addition, you should have the Mecenat app on your phone with the student card since you will need it to get into a club!
- Kårallen
The parties in kårallen are a lot of fun and they’re super popular. Almost always you will find out that the ticket sale starts at 7:00 in the morning and it’s no exception that people queue like 24 hours before the ticket sale starts to get tickets – yep, even when it’s cold and snowy outside! That’s a big dedication for a party right ;). If you’re not a big fan of queueing like me, you can keep an eye on the telegram groups of ESN/ISA where they sometimes upload Google forms for tickets so you don’t have to queue. Also, when it’s a party of your own section you usually can get tickets beforehand. Another option is to ask in the Facebook event if people sell tickets, sometimes this is happening. When the party is called a “kravall”, the dresscode is your overall (of course you can wear whatever you like) – read more about overalls in this blog.
- Kårhuset Kollektivet (KK)
This is more like a regular nightclub, it’s quite big and it’s a lot of fun to go here! Sometimes they have special nights, such as after Valborg last Sunday they had a full moon party. When there are special events happening, you can go to the “Orbiapp” and see what the theme of the party will be and when the ticket sale is – you can then buy the tickets via the Orbiapp. Sometimes they have free entrance for students as well before a specific time, so keep an eye on their social media!
- Flamman
Also a regular nightclub, but way smaller than KK and instead of this one being in the city it’s in Flamman, right below the student corridors. Flamman is open on Fridays & Saturdays and it’s always super crowded! You should try to be in the queue at 22:00, since the club opens at 22:30. You will get a stamp, pay the entrance fee and then you can go out again and re-enter until 00:00, of course you can also stay in the club. Personally I’m not a super big fan of Flamman since it’s quite small and the queues are usually quite long, but it’s definitely nice to go there once and see it for yourself!
These are the three main party locations for LiU students I would say, since in these places you’re only allowed as a student. Of course there are other options in the city center where you can go out, but these are in my personal opinion the most fun for students. You will also find out that there are a lot of open corridor parties you can go to, these can be really fun as well and they’re a cheap way of going out. Let me know if you’ve been to one of these clubs and if you liked it :).
See you soon!
