Today, I want to share some of my favourite walking routes with you. It always helps me to free my head and thanks to Swedish nature it is easy to find nice walking routes here in Linköping.

1. Rydsskogen

First of all, the one that is closest to me: Rydskogen, a forest between Ryd and Gottfridsberg. The forest offers different marked routes, one which is 2,5 km long and another one which is 5 km long. On top of that you can find an outdoor gym here next to a playground. Furthermore, Rydskogen has 18 different Diskgolf areas, which I sadly haven’t tried yet but I will definitly do so in the upcoming weeks. Taking a walk here is not only very beautiful but also fun since you can watch Swedes playing Diskgolf. It is as mentioned as well a great place to go for sports. There are many people that go running here and work out a little in the outdoor gym afterwards. Very close to it in the direction of Ryd you will find Skåland. This is the meeting point of Ryd and a great place for a BBQ or a game of Kubb.

2. Kindakanal

Another beautiful spot for a walk in Linköping is the Kindakanal. This is the beautiful river in the city centre of Linköping. No matter in which direction you go, you will have a nice walk at the shore of this river. My favourite route is to turn right (coming from the city centre) and return on the other side of the river. Here as well you will find many spots for BBQs and picknicks.

3. Trädgårdsförening

Linköpings Trädgårdsförening is a very beautiful park situated between the city centre and Campus US. I love to go there not only for a walk but also to read. Since the sun is finally showing up during these last days, it is absolutly wonderful to sit in the park and read or play games with friends. You will also find a nice café here. It is inside the glas pyramid that you can see on the picture. Next to it is a nice little shop offering plants and other interior design. Furthermore, there is a little hill in the park, from where you will have a nice view over Linköping. The park is always decorated according to the season. In winter there were lots of candles and also a little light festival. I heard that in summer the park hosts some nice events too, and I cannot wait!

4. Vallaskogens Naturreservat

Vallaskogens Naturreservat is very pretty and situated right behind Campus Valla. It is thus perfect for a walk between lectures or a little study break to free your head. It is also a place where some of the activities organised by student associations take place. In winter it is a great place to go sledging. It will take you to Gamla Linköping and if you go explore a little more, you can find many different animals here.

I hope you will have the chance to explore all these beautiful places in Linköping!

Have a great week and talk to you soon!
