Application process can sometimes be very frustrating. However, with the appropriate information and planning, it can be much simpler. While this entire process may consume around 6 months from the application date, there are other deadlines, that needs to be taken care. These deadlines vary slightly every year. Let’s see what are the important dates in this application year. We have two application rounds. All international students are recommended to apply in the first and main application round, but EU/EEA citizens have an additional chance in the second application round. Non- EU/EEA students should not apply in the second round of application, as the result comes in July, and there is no time  to apply for resident permit.

  • First Round(Both EU/EEA and Non-EU):
    • Application open: 18th October, 2021
    • Application submission deadline: 17th January, 2022
    • Documentation: 1st February, 2022
    • Application Fee: 1st February, 2022
  • Second Round(Only EU/EEA):
    • Application open: 15th March, 2022
    • Application submission deadline: 19th April, 2022
    • Documentation: 21st June, 2022
    • Pay Registration Fee/ Strength Exemption: 3rd May, 2022

Since, the first round of application period is over now, we are all eagerly waiting for the results. Meanwhile, you can register for the housing companies, so that when the results are out, you already would have collected some points.   • Notification of Selection of Results (first round)
    • Master’s Program: 7th April, 2022
    • Bachelor’s Program: 13th April, 2022
  • Notification of Selection of Results (second round): 12th July, 2022

There comes the moment of truth, with the results on the above mentioned dates. Post the results, fee paying students can apply for scholarships at LiU as well. Linköping University (LiU) offers a limited number of scholarships to outstanding international students.

  • LiU Scholarship application period: 7-10 April, 2022

For fee paying students, the deadlines to pay the tuition fee, depends on the application period.

  • Tuition fee deadline
    • Offered in April: 1st June
    • Offered in July: within 10 days of offer

If you are offered in April, the details about payment will be communicated through email. If you are offered in July, you will receive notification in your universityadmissions.se account(NO E-MAIL), and you need to reply within 10 days of the offer.
