One of the last weekend, we embarked on a trip that took us through the trails of Stora Boda Nature Reserve and the historic streets of Vadstena. Joined by friends from Belgium, eager to explore Sweden’s natural and cultural gems.

Our journey began at the Stora Boda Nature Reserve, a haven of tranquility and natural beauty. Armed with enthusiasm and good company, we trekked through 12 kilometers of lush forests, immersing ourselves in the calm and picturesque scenery that only the Swedish countryside can offer. The hike lasted about five hours, giving us ample time to enjoy the fresh air and the soothing sounds of nature.

The highlight of our hike was a restful break by a sunlit lake. Here, we took a moment to relax and soak in the serene views, enjoying the gentle warmth of the sun—a perfect midway pause in our explorations.

As the afternoon waned, we headed to our cosy cabin, where the evening was spent grilling and enjoying a delicious barbecue.

Next day, after  hearty breakfast, we tidied up the cabin and set our sights on Vadstena. This charming city, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, welcomed us with open arms. Our first stop was the impressive Vadstena Castle, whose grandeur and historical significance are as compelling as its architecture.

Strolling through the city, we indulged in local ice creams—a sweet treat that was perfect for the sunny weather. Lunch was a delightful affair, featuring delicious cuisine that captured the essence of traditional Swedish flavours.

Walking around Vadstena, we were captivated by its beauty and the easy-going atmosphere of its streets and markets. Every corner offered a new visual delight, from quaint shops to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
