Organising Thirsty Thursday
My dear readers,
This April, I organised my last Thirsty Thursday at ISA – and it was an amazing blast.
For those of you who don’t know, Thirsty Thursday is a drinking game event that ISA have been hosting for a long time – we make more than 200 L of fulvin from scratch, which in itself is such a fun experience. We then have drinking games like flip the cup, beer pong, flunky ball or Irish Christmas where you play these games and can drink in a safe environment and try something new to immerse into the Swedish student life.
As I have been a part of ISA for a very long time, this event is very near and dear to my heart as it requires a lot of effort. This Thirsty Thursday was very emotional for me as it was my last one, and it made me reflect a lot upon my time in ISA. My team and I have become really close and it has made working at ISA so much more enjoyable, which is what makes it all the more hard to leave.
The highlight of this event was that everyone had fun and enjoyed, we barely had any fulvin left and got very positive feedback from everyone about the event, which declared it as a success and I felt a moment of pride, as the president!
We also hosted an afterparty where we played music from all over the world, and I had a lot of fun celebrating internationality and different cultures of the world with everyone through various types of songs and music. They also played an Indian song which was wild because in my three years in Linköping, that has never happened, so it felt pretty special that they did that! A lot of people gave us very positive feedback about the party as well, which only motivates us more and more to host events like this.
Moments like these make me so thankful for being an international student and studying at LiU, giving me so much exposure to an international environment where I can meet people from all over the world and interact through food, music, sports, and much more. This event was a blast and if you guys haven’t attended it, I hope that you attend it soon because it is very worth it!
Till next time my readers,
Shiv <3
