Our recent outdoor climbing trip to Mörkedal from Linköping proved to be a refreshing escape into nature. It was a beautifully sunny Saturday morning when we, a group of five friends, embarked on our adventure. Given that some of us lacked essential gear, preparation involved borrowing the necessary climbing equipment, ensuring everyone could safely enjoy the climb.

Mörkedal, not widely known outside local climbing circles, offered us the solitude we craved—there was no one there but us. This seclusion made our experience even more special as it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We packed a picnic with plenty of food, coffee, tea, and snacks, which we enjoyed at the base of the climbing sector before starting our ascent.

The climbing routes in Mörkedal are not the easiest, presenting us with a delightful challenge. Despite the difficulty, we managed to complete some really nice routes. Each climb pushed our limits and allowed us to support each other through challenging ascents. We spent almost the entire day there, climbing, resting, and soaking in the serene environment.

To cap off our adventurous day, we decided to head to Grebo, a nearby village with located by the lake. The idea was to cool off and soothe our muscles after the day’s exertions. Despite the initial shock, swimming in the cold water was invigorating and served as an excellent way to regenerate our bodies after such an exhausting day.
