My dear family,

I travelled to London for a weekend!!! I still cannot believe that it happened, it feels so surreal. It was an expensive trip for sure, but it was truly worth it and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I would like to thank my friends Nicolas for planning such a great trip, he really made it all happen. Even though London is expensive, I feel like he budgeted everything really well and we ended up exploring a lot of this beautiful city, free of cost. Of course, we saw the classic Big Ben and the London Eye and the Trafalgar Square and everything that you would expect to see in London. I also visited Piccadilly Circus and the whole time, I kept saying Picadeli (the salad boxes at Pressbyrån, haha)! And yes, if you’re wondering, I did go into a telephone booth and have a photoshoot and I have no shame in it either, it was truly an experience.

Did you guys know that the museums in London are free? I was so shocked because I visited the National Art Gallery and the British Museum, all free of cost, that was honestly mind boggling. It felt a little illegal being there honestly because the museums were so worth it and the fact that I didn’t have to pay for anything made the experience even better. You must be wondering why I am going on and on about it being free. This is just my sneaky way of reminding you that wherever you travel in the world, there will always be things to do, free of cost, and places to see and enjoy, without spending any money.

The most important thing while travelling is to budget and plan, pick where you want to eat in advance, think of what you want to do and the places you want to see, and plan accordingly. You will enjoy yourself a lot more as you’ll have a clear idea of what you want out of the trip. You don’t have to plan your trips to the second but a rough itinerary will give you some clarity, which I highly recommend when travelling, especially as broke students 😉

Till next time,

Shivani <3
