Being in Sweden during winter is not an easy, but I learnt how to cope with the darkness and coldness with many things 😊 in this blog I will share with you one of the things I did this year to cope with the Swedish winter.

One of my 2023 resolutions was to start new sport, but I started it a bit earlier in end of 2022. I decided to play new sport and I was not sure which sport I would like to practice as I was not that person who is into sport that much. So, one day I was talking to one of my friends and I knew a bout a club is offering squash classes to Students in the middle of the city Centre.

So, I decided to go, start, and see if I will like it! But I really liked it so much despite I have to run a lot to just not let the ball fall on the floor which I do not think this is the fun part. However I got a tip from the coach that I should start slow and start gradually increase the sessions and not taking it too hard specialty that it is a brand new sport for me. But I am so happy that I was not afraid to start new sport from the beginning.

If you do not know more about the squash it is a racket-and-ball sport played by two or four players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow, rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court.

The motive for me to start play squash was mainly two things, the first one is that it has a wide health benefit as it improves cardiovascular health by running, leaping, and diving for the ball. Also, it increases strength and fitness besides that it maintains a healthy weight. The second reason was it is free of charge.

This was how I started new sport and the way I tried to cope with winter this year, what did you do? And how is the winter in your home country? Tell me in the comments.
