Hej everyone, welcome back! I hope you’re all having a nice weekend :).

The first application round ended on the 16th of January, so I thought of giving you some tips on what you can do between your application and the admission results. The admission results will be published on the 30th of March via Universityadmissions.se.

  • Make sure that you have added the right documents
The application deadline was the 16th of January, but it is still possible until the first of February to add supporting documents. You also need to show your citizenship before the 1st of February. Citizens from EU / EEA / Swiss are exempted from tuition fees, whereas the other citizens have to pay tuition fees and they also need to pay the application fee before the 1st of February. Check your program specific information on the LiU webpage if you need to submit any specific documents, such as cover letters or grade lists. If you are unsure, you can always contact the International Admission Office with your questions.
  • Apply for student housing
Student housing in Linköping can be a bit challenging, especially around August when everyone wants to move, but it is still quite easy to get a room. For Linköping, you can register with Studentbostäder and/or Heimstaden. Both companies rent corridor rooms (you have your own bathroom, but shared kitchen) or student apartments. In Sweden, there is a queue system – every day you are registered, you get one point. The more points you have, the better the chances are of getting the room you want. It is completely free to register and it takes just a few minutes, so that is why I would recommend you to already register before you get your admission results.
  • Relax & wait
After adding all the right documents and applying for housing, there is not much left to do than just relax and wait. Do not worry about it or do not try to think about it, because there is nothing you can do other than waiting and hoping for a good result! Remember that in Sweden you can only get one offer through Universityadmissions.se, so that is why it is important to have your first choice on the first place in Universityadmissions.se.
  • Admission results day – 30th of March
Finally, after a long wait the day is there! Admission results day, a really exciting day for all students that applied to a university in Sweden. On the 30th of March, you will get an email in your Universityadmissions.se account saying whether you got accepted or not. If you are accepted and you had more than one option, it will show on the website which program and university you were accepted to. After being admitted to LiU, you will shortly after receive an email from LiU with some more information.

I hope everything worked out with the application, and hopefully these tips will be of some use when you are in this situation. For me, I applied really late to universities in Sweden and that is why the wait was not that long for me luckily. However, I wish I would have had these tips as well because they are good points to keep in mind. On this page on Universityadmissions.se you can find a clear table with all the important deadlines, this one is always good to check when you are unsure of something. Good luck with waiting on your application results and see you soon!! Hej då!
