Travelling Around (Kvädöfjärdens naturreservat)
Sweden is a beautiful country, needless to say that. It is beautiful in every season. Each season has its own perfection. Going around is a bliss especially when you have great friends. I love photography and to travel around. I don’t wait for a long weekend or a long trip. I like travelling around and capture the astounding Mother Scandinavia. So, one fine weekend we decided to go to Kvädöfjärdens naturreservat for a weekend trip, where we stayed only for one night.
I am truly blessed to have friends with cars 😂. I along with 6 of my friends took 2 cars for the trip.
We were very pumped with the following plans:
1. Leave around 10 am to go to ICA for groceries
2. Leave Linkoping around 11:30 AM
3. Reach Kvädöfjärdens around 1 PM and go for a short hike.
4. Do sauna and then Barbeque in the evening
5. Game night and some chill
6. Next day, have nice brunch
7. Explore nature around
8. Leave by the late noon
However, just like any other trip, we were delayed, and we left around 11 AM. After a lot of shopping at ICA and eating at McDonald’s, we finally hit the road around 12:30 PM. We were aware of the snowfall to start on that weekend, but were unaware of the fact that it was already snowing in that region from past couple of days. We got equally excited to see all the vehicles coming from the other direction covered in the thick snow. Least we imagined was that it will slow down our speed further. We hardly covered half of the way, when we encountered the snow fall. Within no time, the amount of snow increased dramatically. It was so heavy and foggy that it completely blurred our vision. We were now driving at 20 Km/hr. But, the view around was breathtaking.
Because of the delay, we reached a little later than 3 PM, very tired and decided to skip the hike. The stay that we booked was amazingly cozy. Since it was very cold, we didn’t waste any second in starting the fireplace. Not to be surprised, it was already dark around 4 PM. Once the fireplace was set, no one wanted to do any activity. We just sat there around lazily and kept the fireplace alive while trying to fix few heaters for the night. Barbeque plan was still active though. It was a complete different experience to do the barbeque in the snow fall and the dark, but we managed 😁.
After such a delicious dinner, some of my friends felt lazy for a sauna. I am not sure if it was a good idea, but I and 2 of my friends went for the sauna around 2:30 AM. It was really relaxing (slept like a baby 👌). In the morning, we woke up late and it’s justified hahaha. With the great breakfast, we were filled to explore around. But, first we cleaned the entire space and then went out to see around. Ohhh the scenery around was magnificent. The loud, mobile sea was now sitting so calm and quiet dissolving all the snow. That moment was extremely peaceful. We planned to move before its dark, so we left around 3 PM. We had a surprise waiting in Linkoping. By the time we reached back here, it snowed heavily from last night and the entire Linkoping was now covered with thick bed of snow.
Even though, we deviated from our initial plan of the trip, I loved the trip. It felt like a necessary gateway from the everyday routine. Below are few more pictures from the trip.
I hope you had a good time reading.
