Hej, everyone!
In this post, I would love to show you some places in Linköping that are really worth visiting. I have visited all of them during my first year living here and they can inspire you for a good Sunday plan.

The first place is the Swedish Air force Museum. It is a quite big museum where we can find curiosities about the aeroplanes used in the armed forces and the museum offers you a tour through the different decades. Visiting the museum is free, and to get to it from Ryd, you must take two buses, first line 3 and then line 6. A curiosity that I did not know before going is that you can book in advance a test in a real aeroplane simulator. I think it is an experience worth trying.

Gamla Linköping is an area of the old town where walking around the streets makes you travel back in time and learn more about the culture of the city. Some of the houses are small exhibitions where you can read about photographs, tools or old factories. Other houses are beautiful old-themed restaurants and you will also find stores perfect for finding gifts to take back to your family as souvenirs.

Linköpings Trädgårdsförening is a large park that is located in the middle of the city and in which we can find an area with a fountain and flowers, a small stream, orchards, playgrounds, restaurants and even different sculptures around the park. There are many seating areas, and it is worth a walk in any season of the year.

Tinnero is a lake near the city where you can take a walk and appreciate nature, and another lake near Linköping is Roxen. Both lakes can be reached by bicycle and if you visit them at the beginning or the end of the academic year you can swim in them because there are areas prepared for bathing.

The Stångån riverbank path is a green area where you can walk and get easily from the centre of the city. Continuing this path, we can reach the Tannefors Vattenraftverk and a bathing area that looks like a very well-prepared beach, with a volleyball field, grass to lie down, showers, toilets, and a pier.

Finally, in the city centre, we have the Östergötlands Museum that you can visit on weekends from 10 am to 4 pm and where you will find different exhibitions and learn about the culture and history of the region.

Did you know all these places? I recommend you visit them! Let me know which is your favourite place or which place you would like to visit.
