For someone like me comes from big city like Cairo in Egypt, I feel so happy to live in a small and quite like Linköping city. It is so convenient for me to go around everything with my bike. Everything in the whole city is so close it is just few walking distance, or few kilometers by bike, or little journey by bus!

Despite Linköping city is small city it is very trendy, it has fashionable malls, shops, nice boutiques, great bunch of famous and international retail chains. Also, there are many cozy cafes and nice restaurants serve delicious cuisines. In summer, it has good vibes and it winter it is so relaxing.

The “Stora Torget” or the big square is considered as the main spot for leisure as it has many bars, restaurants, cinema, cafes, clubs, and supermarkets. It is really nice place and always full of people on Saturdays and of course Fridays evenings and nights! As it is a place where the friends and families meet and enjoy a meal outside, beer, or fika 😉. In summer, plenty of the cafes and restaurants have their own outdoor areas where we can enjoy the nice weather and beautiful sun.

If you are a person who loves the historical places and old street, then Linköping is the best city for you. Linköping was originally an old medieval town which was always the administrative centre of the district. There are still parts of the medieval street network preserved around Stora Torget, Tannerforsgatan, St Korsgatan and Ågatan. You can also consider these spots to smell and read the history like Linköping Cathedral this is considered the second oldest cathedral as it is after Uppsala cathedral. The castle was built in 1100s. Gamla storgatan, this is a very old main street and in the Middle Ages it was like the main drag between the bishop’s palace castle and the square.

When it comes to the living costs, Linköping wins as if you compare the rent, the grocery prices, and other expenses you can see it is way cheaper than to live in big cities like Stockholm or Uppsala.
