As you knew from my previous blog, I wanted to study master’s in Science for Sustainable Development. When I was doing my research on the best programs that fit my requirements, I was also searching for the best university that has the culture and mindset that can fit with me!

The Education System:
I read a lot about the university, and I would say from my real experience what I have experienced is even more than what I have read and liked about it. The Education system is flexible where you can take extra courses beside your program courses is an option. The teachers are so friendly and helpful, they are always eager to share more information than require, they even provide information on other things like research skills projects that might interest, internship opportunities, and even summer job within the university. Another good thing that I show how the university and my department are flexible is that when you are not able to meet the deadlines to submit your exams or written paper you have two chances to re-take it. Also, for me it was kind of green education, as till this time I am getting all the scientific papers and books online that I need for my studies from the University’s library website or if it is a book, I can always borrow it. Which means for me it is sustainable solution and I do not need to pay extra money.

The University culture and traditions:
The richness of students with different background and expertise was one of the things that attracted me to choose Linköping University. There are a lot of things that I can do beside my studies like to participate in activities such as singing, playing sports, do voluntary work. Also, I can involve in any student association where I can spend my time wisely, get connected to more people, and expand my skills and experiences. Moreover, three student unions at the university – Consensus, LinTek and StuFF each one of which represents students at the various faculties, and each student can be a member of any union that linked to their program or department. The main aim of these unions is to monitor our education’s quality but beside that they provide social activities such as parties, job fairs, traditional events, and more.

The University rank and the employment rate:
I was keen to find the best place that can build on my skills and qualifications so I could be able to find my dream job. Again, as I did my research, I found that Linköping University was one of the best universities in Sweden in terms of the university ranking and the employment rate. Believe or not, but 88% of graduated students of LIU are employed maximum a year after graduation. There are different statistics in that regard and if you need to read more about it you can visit this link.
