Finally another trip!

I love the fact that Linköping is so well connected via train to other places in Sweden, and that it is really easy to take short trips for just 2 days. This time my friends and I wanted to discover Malmö. We planned this trip pretty spontaneously and realised that train prices where substantially cheaper if we left for Malmö Saturday morning and took an early train back on Monday morning, so we packed our laptops and off we went.

I really like taking the trains here. I don’t know what kind of trains you are used to, but I feel like here you have so much leg room, ha ha! Also I really like that you can choose your seat when you book a ticket and don’t have to pay extra for this. But anyways, back to the topic of Malmö. The train ride there is pretty short, and only takes about 3 hours.

We stayed in the Hotel N Hostel Malmö City, and had a private room for 3 people. The room was really nice and they had a great kitchen with free coffee and tea, so I could definitely recommend the place if you are looking for somewhere to stay! Also it is very central and close to a lot of restaurants and cafés, which is always a plus.

By far the most beautiful thing in Malmö was seeing the ocean at sunset. There were intense winds that weekend, but that did nothing to stop how fun this trip was. I would definitely recommend getting a 24h bus ticket, especially as a group to get around. This makes it a lot easier to see different areas.

P.S. Maybe you recognise my friend Sarah, she is also a student ambassador :))

I really enjoyed the difference in architecture in Malmö.. and there where so many amazing cafés and restaurants that it was actually really hard to decide where we wanted to eat!

We were told that we should also check out a falafel place in Malmö, apparently they are supposed to be divine. And truth be told, they are. And the are super cheap as well!

Even at night it was so nice to walk around and see places lit up with little fairy lights. Once again it made me wish it was summer or spring, but still the experiences were amazing. If you get a chance to go to Malmö maybe also check out their library, it looks really cool and cozy.

There was so much to explore in Malmö. We also checked out the Moderna Museet, and really enjoyed it. It is free of charge and although it is not that big, there were some amazing artists featured. If you get a chance to go to Malmö, I’d recommend you also go check out the St. Petri Cathedral. I believe its architecture is quite uncommon for the area and you can even walk in and see it from the inside.

On Monday morning we then left really early to catch a train at 7am. The wifi in the train is really good so we were all able to do our uni work and did not miss a single thing by coming back Monday. It also saved us a lot of money, so if you have the possibility take trains early on Monday morning ha ha! Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well and that you are having an amazing time here in Sweden. Stay healthy and happy, and talk to you again soon, // M.
