As you might know, I have already written a blog about Stockholm before, and I loved my stay there. But a few weeks back a friend and I spontaneously decided we wanted to go on a day trip, and booked train tickets towards Stockholm.

It was a rare weekday where we had no classes or group meetings, and only had to do reading and revisions, so we decided to make the most of it. We booked our tickets via the SJ app and if you book last minute, you can get pretty cheap tickets there. I love journeys by train. It’s a great way to catch up on podcasts, relax to some music or do your reading for class, so you can enjoy the rest of your day in Stockholm (lol).

When we arrived, we first had lunch at Mahalo Odengatan. We really enjoyed their food and the overall ambience in the restaurant, and I would also definitely go back again.

Vegan burgers and sweet potato fries!

After lunch we checked out several second hand shops in the city centre, and found some really good stuff! I can recommend Humana Second Hand if you want to shop and at the same time contribute to charity. Their store was very well organised, and definitely had some hidden gems.

Beyond Retro is another second hand store we ventured into. It is a huge store with an even bigger selection in clothes! You have to do some searching, but they also had some really cool stuff. I found a really good rain jacket there. It looked like new, and its quality is really good too! So if you have the time to do a little searching I think you can find some really special and unique stuff there.

Then we just walked around the city and enjoyed the fact that we were in a totally different place and that we had the possibility to spend some time away from uni work, assignments and submissions.

When it started to get dark (which is so early nowadays :/) we made our way to a cozy little café called Fabrique, where we enjoyed a hot capuccino and the city ambience.

Last but not least we went to the Kulturhuset. At this point it started to rain buckets, so we were in a hurry to get to our destination. The Kulturhuset has some really nice cafés and restaurants, art installations and a really cool view down into the city.

We had our dinner here, before we made our way back to the train station and went back home to Linköping.

Anyways, hope all of you are doing well? I hope you are enjoying great food and fun times and are not too stressed to explore some new places around Linköping. Talk to you soon, //M
