My Design master is located both in Linköping and Norrköping. As I am in the Transformative Service track, I spend most of my time in Linköping. Those in the Visual Media track usually commute a couple times a week to Linköping, but their main studio is in Norrköping.

The past week was quite empty as it was ‘exam’ week: I had only some home assignments to work on. I decided to hop on the 7am campus bus on Friday morning to join my classmate for a study session in Norrköping.

I planned to stay overnight so we could go on a hike the next day.

Glotternskogen – a nature reserve near Åby

We hopped on bus 12 around 8.15 and arrived 30 minutes later at the last stop Torshag. From here, we walked along the route for a few minutes to reach the hiking path: it is well indicated along the route (Glottern) and with orange marks on the path.

Our hiking path – 13.5 km

The sky was cloudy, but the sights were breathtaking. We had a great time, both along the lake and in the forest. That forest seemed inhabited by elves.

Tip: If you don’t mind walking a bit more and plan your day long ahead, you can book a firewood sauna (3 hours/4 person) in the middle of the reserve.

We are definitely planning on going back, maybe to ice-skate or ski in the winter.
What about you, would you like to hike there?
