Easy bike trips around Linköping - and their swimming spots
So you’ve got a bike to move around Linköping. And now, what? Here are two easy bike trips to discover Linköping surroundings.
Berget Slussar (Göta Kanal)
If it’s a sunny day with almost no wind, do not hesitate even one minute to bike to Berg. Grab your friends and hit the road!
How to get there
The path is flat most of the way, with a small uphill near the end. It is completely separated from the cars.
You’ll be seeing fields that are characteristic of our agricultural region, as well as a nice view of Lake Roxen.
Once you arrived in Berg, two options are possible: either ride along the locks to enjoy a beautiful view of the canal or go down to the side of the lake.
One way: 12kms – approximately 40 min.
About Göta Kanal
Berget Slussar is the meeting point of Göta Kanal and Lake Roxen. The entire canal is 190kms long with 58 locks. In summer, they are full of boats. On the side of the lake, you’ll find tables, barbecues, bathrooms as well as a beautiful sand beach.
Like us, enjoy the sun while you swim, eat and read or study on the lake border. Staying for the afternoon makes the trip really worth it!
Blå Lagunen
Do you need a break from studying? Get on your bike to discover breathtaking nature less than a half-hour from campus Valla.
How to get there
Bike alongside the golf club and go through Lambohov. The bike path is easy to ride, but at some point, you will be on the road: be careful of cars and indicate where you turn!
One way: 7km – approximately 25 minutes
About Blå Lagunen
Blå Lagunen is a private lake near Linköping for those who want to swim, sunbathe, go for a walk around the lagoon. Don’t forget to bring something to eat and drink, and to bring back your litter!
Bonus: Tinnerö
If you have more time (it might be already a bit cold to swim!), you can go back through Tinnerö reserve and explore the beautiful landscapes and its wildlife on foot.
Wayback through Tinnerö: 8.5kms – approximately 30 min.
I hope you’ll have as much fun as I did!
