Days get warmer here in Sweden, and it’s about time to get some ice cream. I recently came across an amazing ice cream store just outside of Linköping at lake Störa Rängen. The shop is called ‘Stafsäter gårdsglass’ and it is located on a farm. The owners make their own ice cream using local products from Östergötland. So, depending on the season the types of ice cream vary from berries to strawberries. But they also have the classics such as chocolate ice cream or coffee ice cream.

And you can also buy manyyyy other local products at the shop…

You can reach Stafsätter Gårdsglass either by car, or by taking the bus to Hovetorp (Countrybus 566 from Linköping Resecentrum) and then hiking for about 2 hours. I marked you the place on the map in red.  My friends an I did a day hike from Hovetorp to Vårdnäs, so we took an ice cream break and then continued on our journey.

The hike around lake Rängen is very beautiful. So if you like hiking I highly recommend it. All in all, it takes about 3 days to hike around the whole lake. But you have bus stops regularly, so you can also do a one or a two-days hike. The map for the lake you can get at the office of ‘visit Linköping’.

I hope you enjoy your time in Östergötland,

Katharina
