Two years go by fast, but it feels like I’ve built a whole new life that will soon change with the graduation day in June. So what have been the impressions, experiences and recommendations that I can give about these two years of study at LiU?

Here I share my shortlist.

First, you really should want to pursue a master’s degree and know why you have chosen LiU.

There are incredible moments in the study process, but also moments of exhaustion, confusion and disappointment while you study.
You must be prepared to read countless articles, books and any necessary reports or information that you need. Also being ready to learn new tools and skills would be amazing. From designing in Adobe, video editing, developing a game in Python or talking to politicians and representatives of Linköping. In my case, any task sounds very possible despite studying Business Administration and Strategy. My recommendation is to always be clear about why you are studying your program and to have that objective always present even in the most arduous days or in the most unexpected tasks.

Second, learn to learn.

This sounds a bit obvious, but the truth is that a masters study explores the basis of knowledge and really makes you question whether your beliefs or previous studies are really working as you think. Challenging your way of thinking, your beliefs and being humble to re-learn is essential to develop your academic process.

Third, enjoy every moment. Have fun and learn from every person you meet!

During the last two years, I have met various people from all over the world. People who have lived their entire lives in Linköping and people who have travelled the world. Each experience that you share with your classmates, teachers, and students or workers at LiU is a source of learning more about the world of others. Studying a master’s degree abroad is about exploring the world, and sometimes this happens through each person you meet. So it is time to open the mind and realize that each of us sees things differently. Sometimes we agree and many times we do not, but nevertheless, we continue to learn together. Learning is a never-ending process.

Besides academic knowledge,
you learn about life in many different ways at LiU.

If you are in the world of business and strategy, I would like to share a lecture recommended by one of my professors. I know that many of us study for a master’s degree to develop in professional life and advance in our careers, but life will always be much more than that.

Here goes the video, enjoy!
