Hi everyone!

I have been admitted to the Master’s Programme “Gender Studies: Intersectionality and Change” in 2015 and I have been studying part-time due to my working obligations. As I have exceeded the official two years of studies, I am trying hard this year to complete all the courses and the points that I am missing out, while I have started writing my thesis. The latter is not a big problem because I will have to complete it during the Spring Semester and I will follow the course as it runs, so I believe, I will be motivated and inspired to do the work.

Before the thesis though, I have some remaining points from two courses. Some points refer to a final assignment that I need to submit and some others to certain reflections of weekly readings that I did not deliver when the course was happening. My plan is to get them done before the thesis writing so that I am able to focus on it. The only issue is that I have multiple other working obligations at the same time, so my time is limited. Nevertheless, I am not willing to leave the points unfinished for one more time!

These are the steps that I will follow:

  1. Check the exact time of the deadlines to reassure how much time is left.
  2. Focus on a topic of the assignment and quickly decide on an argument no matter if it is perfect or not.
  3. Make a word map to know approximately how the different parts will be distributed. On the positive side, this assignment is only 1500-2000 words, therefore it is not super stressful.
  4. Make the first draft just to complete the obligatory words.
  5. Edit according to the time left until the deadline.
  6. Submit!!!

Hope it will work out in the end! Fingers crossed 🙂

Have you ever had the same issue as me to combine the studies while working full time?

All the best,

Maria
