Things to do in Tinnerö Eklandskap
Tinnerö Eklandskap is located not far from Linköping city. Has been known as part of the unique oak landscape in Östergötland. This is one of my favorite natural landscapes because you can easily reach with your bike or by walking. By bike you spend around 15-30 minutes depends on the way you enter it and by walking more than one hour from Rydsvägen. So, if you have free time at the weekend Tinnerö Eklandskap is a perfect place to visit.
The first time I went there was when I had a field trip with my class from the course of Outdoor Learning Theory and Practice. We had our first activity at Vidingsjö Motionscentrum, then we walked to Tinnerö Eklandskap and visit one of the lake called Frökärret. The view is amazing and you can see a lot of cows, birds, and especially if you come in autumn there some “special” spots to find mushrooms around. But, again you need to have local people with you to know which mushroom is edible and not.
Swedish people like outdoor activities so much, so don’t be surprised to find people run and doing workouts in Tinnerö even when the weather is cold. It is worth it to hike, get fresh air, and being surrounded by nature. In summer you can spend time having a picnic with your friends and family. Then in autumn or winter, you can try the fireplace and maybe have a BBQ together.
Tinnerö landscape has another lake called Rosenkällasjön. I like this place so much, I have been there several times and enjoy every moment there. You can easily find swan or duck and it is very relaxing to see them from far. With my program one time, we went to Rosenkällasjön to talk about the sense of place. We had some time to explore our surroundings, enjoyed our moment, tried several activities that possible to apply for students. Then, we tried to find different animals live inside the water and identify with the help of the book and our lecture. There are more things to do in Tinnerö.
So next time you stay in Linköping, don’t forget to visit Tinnerö Eklandskap!
Have a great weekend!
